Course content
1. Basic information sources and their classification. 2. Primary sources of information. Book information sources, professional and scientific periodicals of the field. Lectures and proceedings, diploma, dissertation and habilitation. Company literature, video programs, computer programs, internet information. 3. Information record - bibliographic record, cataloging record, bibliographic citation, ČSN ISO 690 and ČSN ISO 690-2, APA. Methods of bibliographic quote. Excerpce, annotation. 4. Secondary information sources, papers, Internet databases, work with secondary sources of information. 5. Processing of scientific expert texts. Content and formal elements of scientific texts. 6. Types of diploma theses and their content definition - historical-comparative work, cultural, empirical, linguistic, literary-scientific, methodological-didactic. 7. Information preparation of the diploma thesis. 8. Literary research in the preparation of the diploma thesis and its function. Processing the theme of the diploma thesis, formal division of diploma thesis. 9. Elements of empirical diploma thesis - research problem and its formulation, type of research problem, characteristics of the research field, formulation of partial goals, research questions and research hypotheses.

How to write a diploma thesis
Students are able to statistically process data, analyze acquired data, interpret acquired data, formulate conclusions, understand the most common mistakes in diploma theses and avoid them,
Prerequisites
Students are familiar with primary and secondary information sources, can use information sources and database tools for literature search and information preparation of the thesis. Student use and apply formal rules for creating dissertations and other academic texts. Can conceive research design her thesis, to carry out research, process data, adequately interpret and discuss the results. Students will be able to prepare the defense of his thesis and respond to the supervisor and the opponent in checks.

Student to gain control study, a literature review prepared studied topic, processing the theoretical basis of the work and research project which will be implemented within DP.
