Course content
1. Introduction to the study of children's literature. 2. Direct work with the text focused on the specifics of children's literature. 3. Direct work with text focused on the genre and thematic structure of CHL. 4. Direct work with text focused on the genre of fairy tales. 5. Direct work with text focused on legends, fables and other epic genres in children's literature. 6. Direct work with text focused on literary fiction in children's literature. 7. Direct work with text focused on literary comics in children's literature. 8. Direct work with text focused on prose with a child hero. 9. Direct work with text or other media focused on theater, television and film for children and young people. 10. Direct work with text focused on literature for children and youth in the 19th century. 11. Direct work with text focused on literature for children and youth in the 20th century. 12. Direct work with text focused on literature for children and youth in today's world.

Learning outcomes
The course acquaints students with important authors and remarkable works of Czech and world literature intended for children. The course is, in connection with the modern concept of education of future teachers and the real educational needs of the child in the 21st century, conceived in a modern way primarily as a direct work with the text of literature for children and youth. The seminar discusses topics related to reading, analysis and interpretation for children and adolescents. The course can also be understood as preparation for the courses Children's Literature I and II., which students can meet in the follow-up master's study.
