May vary - example themes: 1. The relationship of the avant-garde art and its authors to an official conception of socialist realism in the 50s. 2. Official and unofficial literature of 50s, 70s and 80s. 3. The development of prose in 60s. 4. Magazines and their author circles: Květen, Tvář, Sešity. 5. The development of Czech poetry and of the 2nd ? of 20th century. 6. Czech postmodernism. 7. The development of Czech thinking about literature.

Learning outcomes |
The seminar will be dedicated to deepening of knowledge about Czech literature of the 2nd part of 20th century; with a focus on interpretation of significant authors and literary-prosaic pieces, which were created in those times. An important aspect, which will be watched, is a relation of a literary piece to problems of that time. The attention will be also paid to an aspect of genre issues and their perception. Students will focus on particular issues connected to the theme of their dissertation theses.
