Course content
1. Popularization of Czech at home and abroad - essence, location, focus, goals, tasks, functions. 2. Tendencies and manifestations of popularization of Czech in the history of the Czech language until 1918. 3..Tendencies and manifestations of popularization of Czech from the establishment of the First Republic up to date. Current situation and current trends in the popularization of Czech. 4. Popularization of the mother tongue in the environment of the Czech school in the Czech Republic. 5. Popularization of Czech in print-based media. 6. Popular scientific literature on Czech, its popularity, thematic diversity, function. 7. Popularization of Czech on the Czech Radio and other radio stations. 8. Popularization of Czech in television broadcasts of Czech Television and commercial television stations. 9. Popularization of Czech on the internet and web pages. 10. Public and cultural diplomacy, forms and goals of popularization of Czech abroad. Activities of Czech Centers. 11. Popularization of Czech in schools abroad, project "Czech school without borders". Czech studies and teaching Czech at foreign universities. 12. Compatriot associations, their activities, newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations and their activities associated with the popularization of Czech.

Learning outcomes
The course is focused on clarifying and building practical skills to initiate and carry out the popularization of the Czech language both at home and abroad as part of public and cultural diplomacy. The essence, functions and possibilities of various specific outputs, focusing on specific target groups - auditorium of native speakers, bilingual auditorium, foreign language auditorium, various age groups of the auditorium, etc. are discussed and analyzed. Special attention is paid to the implementation of popularization programs and activities about Czech in Czech and foreign media, including compatriot media, to the project Czech School without Borders with the possibility to run and complete pedagogical practice in Czech schools abroad (within the ERASMUS + program) and the activities of Czech centers to popularize Czech abroad. Part of the seminar is the preparation of their own popularization output or activity, their presentation and subsequent brainstorming analysis by other seminar participants.
