The course is thematically focused on the study of the language system of older phases of Czech (Early Old, Old and Middle Czech), while attention is also paid to dialect material and its comparison with New Czech material. The central part of the explanations of the subject Historical Grammar is mainly devoted to morphology. Attention is also paid to selected syntactic and word-formation phenomena. The aim of the course is to understand Old Czech texts and systemic changes in individual language levels. An essential component of the curriculum is the analysis of selected Old Czech texts.
