The subject is the culmination of the study of methodology, synthesizes the knowledge and experience that students have acquired, and opens up the possibility of a broader perspective. During their studies and teaching practice, students encounter difficulties typical of teaching a foreign language at primary school and begin to deal with specific problems. Lecture and seminar topics: 1.-4. Choice of presentation methods depending on the characteristics of the class and the topic; 5.-7. Objectivity of oral and written testing and student evaluation; 8.-9. Syllabus development and modification, work with gifted students and work with dyslexics, student autonomy and development of an independent study program; 10. Non-traditional teaching methods, use of drama and music in teaching English; creative tasks, their organization and evaluation; 11. European language portfolio; 12. International student cooperation projects; 13. Professional journals, their availability and use Acquired competencies At the end of the course, the student is expected to be able to do the following: - will further develop reflection for the purpose of evaluating teaching (including the evaluation of both English teachers and students); - will use a scale of language level descriptors and will be familiar with Czech curricular documents; - will be able to apply assessment criteria to various types of outputs of their students; - can use alternative assessment options in the classroom; - can enrich and expand the repertoire of effective activities and activating methods;
