Learning outcomes
Acquired competencies: At the end of the semester - students are able to identify sentence types, sentence elements and their implementation by linguistic units in text analyses; - distinguish or recognize the semantic functions of sentence elements; - perceive the mutual position of sentence elements depending on the intention of the utterance; - in the case of complex sentences and compound sentences, they are able to determine syntactic and semantic relations between sentences; - define the position of individual sentences in the text and the resulting current division; - based on the analyses of authentic texts, they are able to produce texts themselves with adequate sentence and suprasentential units; - they are also able to orient themselves in the differences between Czech and English syntactic structures.
