Acquired competencies: At the end of the semester, students - are able to perform morphological and structural analysis of a text: - can identify parts of speech including the context-bound phenomenon of conversion; - can distinguish grammatical categories and forms of their expression; - can work with new connections between language forms and their meaning. Based on this analysis, they are able - to produce texts themselves, the grammatical form of which corresponds to the content intention. - have already learned to recognize typological differences between the Czech and English grammatical systems.
