Lecture topics: (2 hours/week) 1. Definition of the concept of pathology, pathological anatomy and pathological physiology. Illness and health. Death. Etiology and pathogenesis of diseases. The main causes of the disease. 2. Regressive and metabolic changes: necrosis, atrophy, dystrophy. 3. Oncopathology I. General oncological terms. 4. Pathological anatomy and physiology of blood and the blood system. Disorders of hemostasis. 5. Pathological anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system. 6. Pathological anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system. 7. Pathological anatomy and physiology of the gastrointestinal tract. Seminar topics: (2 hours/week) 1. Pathological anatomy and physiology of the excretory system and metabolic disorders. 2. Pathological anatomy and physiology of the endocrine system. 3. Pathological anatomy and physiology of the nervous system. 4. Oncopathology II. 5. Pathological anatomy and physiology of the reproductive system. 6. Pathological anatomy and physiology of the skin. 7. Pathological anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal system.

|
Expertise: The student masters basic medical terminology, can define the pathophysiology of individual diseases. Professional skills: The student understands the terminology and basic pathophysiological mechanisms within his field of study. Understands the complex position of pathology within the curative and preventive process. General qualifications: The student is able to apply theoretical knowledge and skills in natural conditions, is able to communicate with the client and members of the medical team.

Assessment methods and criteria

The exam takes place in written form, consists of a multiple choice credit test, success is required to get credit 50%, followed by the theoretical part of the exam with three questions from the lectured courses.
