Lecture topics: 1st consultation: 1. Nursing research in the 21st century. 2. Validity in nursing research. 3. Reliability in nursing research. 4. Critical thinking in nursing. 2nd consultation: 1. Evidence-based practice (EBP). 2. EBP process and phases. 3. Types of studies. 4. Methodology of secondary research. 5. Clinical guidelines. Seminar topics: 3rd consultation: 1. Ethical principles of research work in non-medical health fields. 2. Quantitative research methodology. 3. Hypotheses in quantitative research. 4. Set of respondents and methods in quantitative research. 4th consultation: 1. Hypothesis testing. 2. Statistical tests. 3. Qualitative research methodology. 4. Methodological approaches in qualitative research. 5. Mixed research.

Learning outcomes |
The subject is designed as a theoretical and practical. It assumes the application of knowledge and skills acquired in nursing and humanities subjects and a certain level of creativity. Leads students to critical scientific thinking: understanding the need and importance of a scientific approach in nursing. It introduces them to the latest trends in nursing research with a focus on evidence-based practice and the selection of appropriate methods, processing and evaluation of results.
Expertise: Students know the principles of quantitative and qualitative research and the specifics of research in nursing, including the latest trends, and understand evidence-based practice. Professional skills: Students are able to prepare a scientific project. Students can collect data and perform selected statistical analyzes using selected software programs. General qualifications: The student understands the importance of scientific work in nursing and is able to adequately apply the principles of scientific work in nursing. |
