Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. Basic classification of quality standards in Czech health care. Standardization of health care abroad. 2. Economic aspects of standardization of care 3. Quality indicators of medical and nursing care, standardization of data collection procedures 4. Internal and external quality audit 5. Standards in a healthcare facility 6. Standards in medical facilities Seminar Topics: 1. Standards create basic rules 2. Patient Care Standards, Patient Compliance Standards 3. Standards of anti-epidemic measures 4. Determination of quality indicators 5. Internal audit - teams, team training - use of standards in practice 6. Nonconformity management, corrective actions

Learning outcomes
Subject acquaints students with the basics of standardization of Czech health care and compares them with the requirements of external and internal assessors. The subject explains individual concepts related to the standardization of health services, the development of standards of medical and nursing care. In the practical part it provides students with the possibility to use theoretical knowledge, especially when creating specific standards, setting indicators and planning audits.
Subject knowledge: The student is able to describe individual models of quality management, can explain the concept of accreditation and certification in health care, knows the legislative framework of standardization of care, including economic aspects and international context. Subject skills: The student is able to create standards of quality care, can set and evaluate selected indicators, plan internal audits and evaluate audit reports in relation to the total DSU, respects the justification of documentation and the need for its management. The student is able to prepare and lead training for internal auditors.
