Lecture Topics: 1. Introduction, basic concepts of health care management 2. Organization of medical facilities, types of medical facilities 3. Economy in health care 4. Personnel policy in health care 5. Professional and other requirements for healthcare workers, management of medical facilities 6. Crisis Situations in Health Care I. 7. Crisis situations in health care II - crisis communication 8. Competence of health workers, expertise, type of education 9. Tenders - personnel, medical devices 10. Provision of health care from public health insurance Seminar Topics: 1. Practical explanation of individual terms 2. Practical examples and classification of types of medical facilities 3. Economic indicators monitored in health establishments by type - I 4. Economic indicators monitored in health establishments by type-II 5. Specialties of personnel policy in health care - current situation, possibilities of improvement 6. Lifelong education in health care 7. Practical examples of crisis situations in health care 8. Practical exercise of crisis communication with patient 9. Purchase of medical equipment 10. Types of paid health care

Learning activities and teaching methods

Learning outcomes
Students will be acquainted with the basic concepts in the management of a health care facility, with the issues of facility management, legislative requirements and the main economic-personnel issues.
Expertise: The student is able to describe the types of medical facilities, can explain their differences in the possibilities of provided health care and in the requirements for them in terms of professional and operational. Professional skills: The student is able to implement the taxonomic classification of a medical facility into the structure of the Czech Republic's facility, knows its possibilities of providing care and operational possibilities. The student is able to assign the applicant for a job in individual types of HE according to their education and competence.
