Course content
Lecture topics: 1. Quality - basic concepts and definitions. Quality management history. Legislation. 2. Process management. Quality management models. 3. Quality system requirements. 4. Accreditation. Certification. Quality manager. 5. Information and communication in QMS. Methodology of data collection. 6. External and internal quality assessment. Satisfaction tracking. Seminar topics: 1. Concept of quality and role of management. SWOT analysis. 2. Quality management methods. Ishikawa. Deming cycle. EFQM. TQM. Method 5 S. 3. Quality management project in a healthcare facility. 4. Process standardization. Standardization of procedures. 5. Documentation and its management. Health care quality indicators. 6. Planning and implementation of internal audit.

Learning outcomes
The course acquaints students with basics of service quality management with focus on health care. It informs about process management and quality management systems, as well as the role of healthcare facility management in setting strategic goals and creating quality concepts. The course explains individual terms related to the SŘJ and in the practical part provides the students with the possibility to use theoretical knowledge in practice, ie the creation of a project for implementation of SŘJ in a medical facility.
Subject knowledge: The student can describe individual models of quality management, can explain the concept of accreditation and certification in health care. The student is well versed in internal and external quality audit concepts and has a basic overview of quality management methods in support health services, pharmacies and laboratories. Subject skills: The student is able to create a quality management project proposal for a medical facility. Student knows the concept of process standardization and can create a process diagram. It respects the legitimacy of the documentation and the need for its management. Student is able to plan an internal audit of the SŘJ. Student can identify health care quality indicators and set up their monitoring methodology and then interpret them.
