Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. week: Radiology as a medical field 2. week: X-ray radiation. 3. week: Quantities and units of ionizing radiation dozimetrics and radiation protection 4. week: Displaying methods. 5. week: Contrast substances. 6. week: Sciagraphy and sciascopy. Computer tomography. Magnetic resonance. Ultrasound diagnostics. 7. week: Radiological examination of organ systems. 8. week: The basics of nuclear medicine. Seminar Topics: 1. week: The possibilities of displaying methods, the demand for radiological examination, description. 2. week: Ionizing radiation, natural and artificial sources. 3. week: Interaction of radiation with the environment,the basics of radiobiology, a radiation disease. 4. week: Uroradiology. 5. week: Paediatric and neonatological radiology. 6. week: Radiodiagnostics in gynaecology and obstetrics. 7. week: Ultrasonography in gynaecology and obstetrics. 8. week: Mamological diagnostics.

Learning outcomes
The subject introduces the students with special activities in the area of radiology, such as radiodiagnostics, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine. The seminars follow the theoretical part and they introduce a birth assistant with the the issues of cooperation between the fields, disciplines related nursing care and radiation protection.
Subject Knowledge: Student is able to explain the basics of radiological examination, he knows the types of displaying methods and he knows their diagnostic possibilities, he understands the importance and the dangers of the field, he knows radiological therapeutic procedures. Professional Skills: Student will get practical skills in radiological examination procedures. He knows the specifics of practical preparation of a woman for certain radiological examinations. He is able to consult the patient before certain radiological examination.
