Course content
Lecture topics: 1. The subject of psychopathology and its basic categories. 2. Mechanism of origin and development of mental disorders. 3. Disorders of individual mental functions and their influence on behavior. 4. Central nervous system (CNS) disorders and diseases. 5. Dementia. 6. Schizophrenia, personality and behavioral disorders. 7. Affective disorders. 8. Neurotic and anxiety disorders, Posttraumatic and dissociative disorders, Mental retardation. 9. Suicidal syndrome.

Learning outcomes
The course deepens students' knowledge of the mental life of man in bio-psycho-social contexts. The aim is to gain knowledge about mental disorders, behavioral disorders and prepare students to work with individuals with specific disorders; with an emphasis on changes and perceptual disorders; attention disorders; disorders of consciousness; disorders of emotions, affectivity; memory disorders; disorders of instincts, behavior; disorders of thinking, speech; mood disorders, affective disorders; mental development disorders; mental retardation; behavioral and emotional disorders; sleep disorders, dream, the most common causes of sleep; psychotic disorders; eating disorders; neurotic disorders, personality disorders.
The student will get acquainted with the clinical conditions of the disease and the specific needs of patients / clients changed in connection with mental disorders and mental illnesses that significantly affect the quality of life. The content of teaching takes into account individual age categories - adulthood, adolescence and childhood in terms of manifestations of mental illness. It clarifies the differences between individual care in primary, secondary and tertiary care facilities.
