Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. Pregnancy disorders, IUGR 2. Multiple pregnancy, irregularities in fetal storage Diseases directly related to pregnancy 3. Diseases without direct pregnancy 4. Pathology of placenta, umbilical cord and amniotic membranes 5. Fetal hypoxia, non-progressive labor 6. Obstetric operations Pathology of the puerperium, acute conditions in obstetrics Exercise Topics: 1. Nursing care about a pregnant woman with gestation impairment (spontaneous, artificial, induced; UUT legislation, partus praematurus, prolonged pregnancy; care for woman and newborn) - case study solution. 2. Nursing care about a pregnant woman with early gestosis, preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, nursing care about tje woman with urological diseases - case study. 3. Nursing care about a woman with DM I, II. type, GDM. Nursing care about a woman with cardiovascular disease in pregnancy and childbirth; care for a woman with hypertension in pregnancy - case study solution, case report. 4. Nursing care of a woman with childbirth, disorders of fetal storage, nursing care about a woman with multiple pregnancy, preparation of a woman and aids, delivery assistance - preparation for childbirth. 5. Epiziotomy, care for episiotomy, practical examples, model situations. Episiotomy Suture, Midwifery Injury, Instrumentation, Sewing Material, Sewing Technique - Nursing Care about a Woman with Obstetric Operation (forceps, VEX, SC). 6. Nursing care about a woman with haematological diseases, Rh incompatibility, anemia, Nursing care about the women with irregularities III. dp, health monitoring. 1. Childbirth assistance outside the health care facility Nursing care about the pregnant and pregnant women and medicament abuse, Nursing care for pregnant, mother and puerperium with mental disorder. Learning outcomes
The subject is profiling as a theoretical-practical and it introduces students with problems of risk and pathological conditions during pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium. Seminars are focused on solving specific situations from the point of view of the Midwife and on the application of nursing process. Special attention is dedicated to acute conditions in obstetrics those can be healt- and life-threatening. The aim of the subject is to understand expert knowledge and to solve problems in the field based on this general task.
Expertise: The student analyzes the disease in pregnancy, including critical conditions. The student will describe the most common pathological conditions during pregnancy, including specific care of Midwife. The student characterizes the most frequent pathological conditions in the puerperium, including specific care of Midwife. Professional skills: The student uses professional obstetric terminology in practice. The student proposes specific Midwife´s activities in the care of pregnant women, mothers and puerperes with pathological conditions. The student provides nursing care about women with pathological conditions during pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium. General competences: The student is able to apply the acquired professional knowledge and professional skills in clinical practice.

Assessment methods and criteria

Processing educational material, case studies during teaching, active approach - the possibility of obtaining a credit, by completing only one credit test. ?
