Seminar topics: 1st week: General psychiatry - diagnostics options, therapy options. Psychotherapy - cognitive behavioral and deep dynamic directions Week 2: Affective Disorders - Depression, Organic Mental Disorders - Secondary, Primary Week 3: Dementia, delirium. The acute state and legal aspects in psychiatry 4 weeks: Specifics of mental disorders in children and adolescents, child autism. Personality disorders - overview. Week 5: Mental anorexia and bulimia - resolution. Neurological disorders - classification, case studies, stress response. Week 6: Schizophrenia Group - Classification, Diagnostic Criteria. Bipolar affective disorders, case studies, diagnostic criteria Week 7: Case studies and specifics of mental health care in children. Case Reports and Specifics of Nursing Children with Autism

Learning outcomes
|
The subject is theoretically-practical. It shows the students clinical states, mental disorders and the disorders of psychiatric nature which can appear during the life of a woman especially during the pregnancy, the birth and six-week period. Students are also introduced with the basics of psychohygiene and consulting in primary intervention in critical situations. The focus is put on the prevention and health care in the field of mental health.
Subject Knowledge: Student knows diagnosis and therapy possibilities for the patients with mental disorders, he knows the symptoms of selected mental disorders, he knows therapy specifics of the patients with mental disorders. Professional Skills: Students can recognize the clinical displays of mental disorders; they can respect the specifics of mental disorders in an old age and a child's age. They are able to describe basic diagnostic methods in psychiatry, name therapeutic possibilities in psychiatry. Students respect legal aspects related to mental disorders and explain the importance of physiotherapy as a part of a mental disorder treatment.
