Lecture Topics: 1. Introduction to organization and current problems of paediatrics. Growing and developing a healthy child, nutrition. 2. Pharmacotherapy in childhood, infectious diseases in childhood Respiratory diseases, skin disease. 3. Diseases of blood, heart, blood circulation. Kidney and urinary disorders 4. Diseases of the digestive system, diseases of endocrine glands 5. Internal environment disorders, immunity and allergic diseases. Diseases of the nervous and muscular system. The most common disorders of vision, hearing and speech. 6. Sudden conditions in paediatrics. Resuscitation of newborn and older child Seminar Topics: 1. Nursing process in child with respiratory diseases. 2. Nursing process in a child with GIT disease. Nursing process in a child with a disease on the uropoetic tract. 3. Nursing process in a child with hematopoiesis and blood coagulation disorders. 4. Nursing process in a child with selected endocrine diseases. 5. Nursing process in a child with epilepsy and neuroinfections. Nursing process in a child with skin disease. 6. Nursing process in child with immune system disorder.

Learning outcomes
|
The course is conceived as theoretical - practical. It is part of a nursing care complex for mother and child care. It gives an overview of the particularities of nursing care and individual needs of the child in individual age groups with emphasis on the period of neonatal and infant. Students will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for overall nursing care of the child, including intensive care.
Expertise: The student is able to distinguish and enumerate individual developmental periods of childhood, is able to justify anatomical-physiological peculiarities of the child's organism, is able to describe in greater detail the difference in the diet of children in individual developmental stages, manage to evaluate the child's condition using various assessment scales suitable for the child due to his age, can enumerate the principles and complications associated with individual interventions and procedures applied in practice. Professional skills: The student is able to evaluate the overall state of the child with respect to his age, to choose and work with appropriate scaling technique and methodology for the child with regard to his age, to carry out the nursing process in its individual stages with regard to the age of the child and his individual peculiarities. good practice and technique for administering medicines to children, can assess the risk of injuries in childhood taking into account their age. General competences: The student is able to communicate comprehensibly and convincingly to the woman about the nature of the professional problems and propose their solution.
