The course is conceived as theoretical and practical. It is part of a complex of clinical nursing subjects that are closely linked to midwifery. It acquaints students with clinical conditions of internal nature, which can occur in complex care of woman and in midwifery. The student will be acquainted with epidemiology, symptomatology, diagnosis and treatment of the most common internal diseases that may occur during the life of a woman, including pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium.
Expertise: The student knows the causes, etiology and symptoms of internal diseases. The student knows the basic procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in internal medicine. The student is able to describe the specifics of nursing care for patients with internal diseases. Professional skills: The student is able to elaborate a nursing care plan in the context of specific diseases in internal medicine. The student is able to develop, implement and evaluate an educational plan for patients with selected internal diseases. General competences: The student is able to communicate comprehensibly and convincingly to the woman about the nature of professional problems and to propose their solution.
