Lecture Topics: 1. week Heart and vessels disorders 2. week: Respiratory system disorders 3. week: Digestive system disorders 4. week: Kidneys and urinary tract disorders, the disorders of inner environment 5. week: Blood and haematopoiesis disorders 6. week: The disorders of glands with inner secretion. Diabetes mellitus 7. week: Motor system disorders 8. week: Clinical geriatric issues Seminar Topics: 1. week: Nursing care after a patient with heart and vessels disorders (with AIM, with arterial hypertensions, with deep vein thrombosis, with lung embolia) 2. week: Nursing care after a patient with pneumonia, asthma bronchiale 3. week: Nursing care after a patient with pancreatitis, inflammation of pancreas and biliary system 4. week: Nursing care after a patient with an inflammation of the urinary tract, with acute glomerulonefritidis, with renal insufficiency 5. week: Nursing care after a patient with blood disorders (anaemia, leukaemia, Leiden mutation) 6. week: Nursing care after a patient with endocrine disorders (thyroid gland, cortex and medulla of suprarenal glands). The care after a patient with DM 7. week: Nursing care after a patient with degenerative illness of motor system (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis) 8. week: Specifics of nursing care in geriatrics and gerontology

Learning outcomes
|
The subject is theoretically-practical. It's a part of a complex set of subjects related to clinical care connected with midwifery. It introduces the students with clinical states of an internal character appearing in complex care in midwifery. Student will know the basics of epidemiology, symptomatology, diagnostics and treatment of the most common internal diseases which can appear during the life of a woman including pregnancy, birth and six - week period. Nursing care is then provided in a form of a nursing process which follows the conception of modern internal nursing care.
Subject Knowledge: Student knows the causes, aetiology and the symptoms of internal disorders. Student knows the basic procedures of diagnostics and treatment of the disorders in inner medicine. Student is able to describe the specifics of a nursing care after the patients with internal disorders. Professional Skills: Student is able to create a nursing care plan regarding the context of the disorder specifics in internal fields. Student can create, realize and evaluate educational plan for the patients with selected internal disorder.
