Course content
Seminar Topics: 1. week: The term of perioperational care and its classification. The role of a birth assistant in perioperational care. 2. week: Education in perioperational care (specialization, university):conditions, output. 3. week: Operational department, devices and material equipment in the operation room. 4. week: Organizational and functioning issues of the operational department. 5. week: Hygiene, microbiology, and epidemiology in perioperational care. 6. week: The specifics of preoperational preparation and postoperational care in gynaecology and obstetrics 7. week: The specifics of intraoperational care, meeting the needs of an operated person, security measures in the operation room. 8. week: Basic instruments, the training of preparation before an operation

Learning outcomes
The subject introduces the students with specific care after the women suffering gynaecological disorders, pregnant women, women giving the birth and women in a six -week period undergoing an operation. Students will train preoperational, perioperational and postoperational care after a woman and in the form of a nursing process they will provide sufficient care. One part of the subject is also the training of preparation before an operation and assistance during Caesarean section.
Subject Knowledge: Student understands the requirements of the operation rooms; he knows their classification based on aseption. Student understands the necessity of strict following all the hygienic and anti-epidemiological measures in the operation rooms. Professional Skills: Student understands the current needs of the operated patients and solves problems adequately. Student is able to move efficiently around the operation room without breaking the hygienic rules. Student is able to work with the surgical assistant and can prepare himself for the operation.

Obligatory attendance of the seminars, a seminar project about perioperational care, taking part in an internship at a medical facility with perioperational care during the study course.
