Topics of lectures: 1. Definitions, approaches and aspects of the health of the population and population groups, determinants of health and causes of diseases 2. Living conditions and health, way of life and health 3. Indicators of health and disease, infectious diseases and their prevention 4. Non-infectious chronic diseases and their prevention, programs to protect and support the health of the population 5. International documents and cooperation in the field of public health, the role of medical facilities in the protection of public health. 6. Laws on the protection of public health and related legislation Seminar topics: 1. Elaboration of information on the health status of the Czech population and its development (general overviews, individual diseases) 2. Learning outcomes
|
The subject is focused on population health, scientific and practical (including legislative measures) approaches to its protection and support, on understanding the causes of possible health damage, as well as factors that influence the improvement of health and its optimization, possible activities of health professionals and health care workers. facilities in this area.
Field knowledge: The student is able to describe and explain various approaches and definitions of population health and the resulting measures to protect and support it. Understands the importance and impact of the environment and people's way of life on their health, can identify individual determinants of health and their negative and positive impact on health, knows the World Health Organization documents and Czech legislation on health protection and promotion, implementation of society and health prevention of infectious and chronic diseases. Field skills: The student is able to develop an intervention program to impact the health, environment, lifestyle of a selected population group, can process and interpret statistical data on indicators of the health status of the population and their selected groups, apply the obligations of health facilities in public health.
