Course content
Lecture topics: 1st consultation: 1. Subject of general didactics 2. Contemporary educational theories 3. Modernizing and innovative trends in teaching 4. Primary and secondary school teacher profile Seminar topics: 2nd consultation: 1. The content of education, its codification and changes, curriculum reform and its principles, pedagogical knowledge of the content 2. Educational goals, their functions, meaning, formulation. Taxonomy of cognitive, affective and psychomotor goals 3. Organizational forms of teaching in terms of time, in terms of the number of individuals taught, in terms of the place 4. Teaching methods and their classification criteria; activation methods of teaching; current didactic trends in terms of methods. 3rd consultation: 1. Pedagogical diagnostics, its meaning, functions, methods, diagnostic process and its conclusions and recommendations. 2. Assessment in teaching, meaning of assessment, types of assessment, characteristics of assessment, subjective sources of errors. 3. Disadvantage of the teachers and its causes, biological, psychological and social, work with the underachieving pupil. Self-study: 1. Didactic resources - aids, textbooks, ICT in teaching; didactic modeling and experimentation. 2. Pedagogical communication, verbal and non-verbal communication, communication by action, illegal communication. 3. Didactic testing, types of tests, types of test items, test properties, principles of creating teacher-made tests.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to prepare students in terms of theory and practice for the management of the educational process. The seminars on general didactics will be oriented towards the independent creative activity of the students, who will thus acquire the necessary skills in the field. The purpose of the seminars, which follow the lectures on general didactics, will be the practical treatment of selected topics. The main content of the seminars will be the practical application of the discussed topics to selected topics according to the approval of the students, or the analysis of problems associated with the given topic. The aim of the seminars is to acquaint the students with the basic didactic literature and also to be able to practically implement the theoretically discussed topics within the subjects of secondary school education, and thereby acquire the basic pedagogical skills necessary for their professional application and further understanding the importance of general didactics for their further pedagogical studies.
Expertise: The student will be able to describe the system of curriculum documents of the Czech Republic, explain the basic principles of curriculum reform, describe non-material and material didactic resources, define organizational forms and teaching methods; describe the importance and functions of assessment in teaching, define subjective sources of assessment errors and characterize methods of obtaining feedback; describes the process of pedagogical diagnostics, basic diagnostic methods. Professional skills: The student determines the possibilities of their use within the educational process, specifies contemporary innovative trends in teaching, characterizes selected methods of managing teachers learning activities. General qualifications: The student is able to apply the acquired knowledge to the field of didactic issues in the field, to approach the concept of lessons in a creative way and to reflect contemporary trends and knowledge in the framework of the management of teachers learning activities, to apply the acquired knowledge in specific pedagogical situations, to systematically measure and objectively evaluate the results of teaching, to propose, implement and evaluate the diagnostic process, accept adequate conclusions, cooperate with school counseling facilities.
