Learning outcomes
The subject is theoretically-practical. It creates the basis for professional knowledge and the skills of a birth assistant while developing the relationship of trust with a new client/patient and his/her family for a further successful and effective individual care. The subject covers the issues of human communication, both verbal and non-verbal side, including communication between a mother and child. The subject plays an important role in developing correct psychotherapeutic behaviour of students.
Subject Knowledge: Student is able to define the term "Communication", communication context and he understands the importance of communication in interpersonal area. Student also knows the rules of effective communication, the barriers of communication and the principles of transaction analysis. Professional Skills: Student is able to communicate effectively with a patient/client, he is able to apply the rules of effective communication, he knows some possible barriers in communication and he knows how to eliminate them. Student can recognize the mistakes in social perception and how to eliminate them effectively. He is able to choose a constructive way of communication and problem solving.
