Course content
Seminar Topics: 1. week: Basic IT knowledge: information and its units, HW and SW, the rules of working with the Internet. 2. week: E-learning: the function and the types of e-learning systems, the approach towards e-learning at the faculty (Moodle) and other faculties with similar focus (MEFANET). 3. week: MS-Office advanced: format copying, Ctrl+H for substituting, PowerPoint (slide transitions, animation options). 4. week: Word: Cutting the document into the sections and the types of page numbering in sections, the titles and generating summary, the citations and the generation of bibliography. 5. week: Excel: Automatic filling of sequences, fixing the dividers, copying using the lock symbol, sorting the data using several criteria. 6. week: Excel: function=sum, a selected text and logical functions, a bar chart, a pie chart, a connection chart, a point chart and their editing: the change of scale, naming the axes. 7. week: General principles and trends in E-health, EHR (EPR): electronic health (patient's) record, standards (HL7). 8. week: IS in health care and in hospitals (functions, examples), the principles and examples of telemedicine application.

Learning outcomes
The subject introduces the user's and professional approaches towards informatics, information technology and the possibilities of its application in health care. It provides basics for using the software, text and data processing applications.
Subject Knowledge: Students will know modern possibilities of using IS (information technology in general) in the field of health and social care. They will understand and learn basic terminology related to e-health and telemedicine. Professional Skills: Students are able to use information technology and common software and applications on an advanced level.
