The subject is theoretically - practical and it is focused on the basic knowledge of pedagogics and didactics and their application in consulting activities provided by a birth assistant for an individual, a family, a community in qualificational and post-qualificational education.
Subject Knowledge: Student is able to explain the terms and connection between an educational process and a nursing process, explain and define primary, secondary and tertiary education, name the competencies of a nurse in consuting and education, and explain the role of a midwife in advising and mentoring, define pedagogical principles and rules of education, define the terms, aims and function of upbringing and education, explain the term of educational process evaluation, describe alternative educational methods. Professional Skills: Student is able to plan educational process for specific patients, process educational anamnesis, search for and select educational needs of a patient, create and realize an educational session using sufficient educational methods considering the patient's health condition, evaluate the efficiency and the results of the educational process, prepare educational materials and methods of education for primary, secondary and tertiary educational areas, manage documentation of the educational process.
