Course content
Lecture topics: (2 hours/week) 1. The field of health education and its importance and role in primary, secondary and tertiary disease prevention. 2. Health Education programs at foreign universities. 3. Methods of Health Education - according to various aspects and uses. 4. Individual methods. 5. Methods and forms of Health Education, collective methods of Health Education. 6. Methods of education for appropriate physical activity. 7. Methods of education for rational nutrition. 8. Methods of education for non-smoking (smoking cessation). 9. Educational methods for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. 10. Intervention programs. Seminar topics: (2 hours/week) 1. Preparation and elaboration of teaching materials for students within Health Education. 2. Content and organization of lessons in the field of Health Education. 3. Development of an intervention program. 4. Development of an intervention program. 5. Elaboration of the Health Education program for selected communities. 6. Methods of evaluating the results of Health Education programs. 7. Methods of evaluating the results of Health Education programs. 8. Methods of evaluating the results of teaching Health Education. 9. Presentation of seminar papers. 10. Credit award.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquire not only knowledge in the field of health education and individual methods of health education and their application in practice, but especially the way of teaching teachers of this subject with a focus on different groups of the population and their specific peculiarities.
Expertise: Students have sufficient theoretical knowledge in the field of health education and are able to develop and implement the teaching of Health Education according to targeted and professionally based programs, while applying adequate knowledge of andragogy. Professional skills: Students will be able to prepare a plan and implement the teaching of health education at the medical school, develop a model intervention program for health protection and promotion, guide students in developing programs, objectively evaluate the results, determine the next direction and methods of health education and teaching. Competences: Students are qualified to lead teaching in the field of health education in a separate subject and as part of other professional subjects, to participate in the coordination and implementation of intervention programs for health protection and promotion.

Requirements for obtaining credit: at least 90% participation in seminars, continuous verification of knowledge during the academic year, elaboration and presentation of seminar work. Requirements for passing the exam: oral answer to 2 questions
