Course content
Lecture topics: 1st consultation The concept and mission of the educational subject of somatology at medical schools. Continuity of the somatology curriculum with the primary school curriculum, in the case of vocational education - continuity of the content of the secondary school curriculum. Educational goals in the teaching of somatology at medical schools - classification of learning goals, method of formulating learning goals, examples of cognitive, affective and psychomotor goals. 2nd consultation: Lesson in somatology I. - lesson planning, teacher preparation for teaching, student motivation in somatology teaching. Lecture in somatology II. - division of somatology lessons, methods in teaching somatology - classification and characteristics of selected teaching methods. 3rd consultation: Didactic principles and their application in the teaching of somatology. Didactic tools and their use in the somatology teaching. Assembly of the examination tests in somatology, screening, evaluation, classification of knowledge and skills in the teaching of somatology. Seminar topics: 4th consultation: Seminars include preparation, methodical processing of the topic, selection of suitable teaching methods, teaching aids, didactic techniques and active teaching of the given topic. The student chooses or is assigned to a topic from the menu below: Functional morphology of the cell, tissue. Locomotor system - skeletal system, joints, muscular system. Blood - composition, function, specific and non-specific immunity, hemostasis, hemocoagulation, blood groups. Respiratory system - structure, function. Cardiovascular system - central and peripheral part. Digestive system - structure, function of individual sections. Urogenital system - structure and function of kidneys, excretory urinary tract, male and female reproductive organs. Endocrine system. Nervous system - central and peripheral part. Student will process the given topic in written form according to the established requirements and submit it in advance of the actual consultation. Self-study: Pedagogical documents - framework educational program, school educational program, thematic plan of the given subject. Deepening the knowledge of anatomy and physiology in individual organ systems, focusing on the range of knowledge imparted, the interconnectedness of functions with the aim of achieving a comprehensive concept of the human organism.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the didactics of the study subject - Somatology for teaching at medical schools. It prepares future teachers to teach somatology in the conditions given by the school education curriculum.
Expertise: The student demonstrates knowledge in the field of basic didactic categories, possesses broad expert knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Professional skills: The student is able to use theoretical knowledge when planning a specific lesson. Student is able to choose appropriate teaching goals, suitable teaching methods, adequate didactic means in the teaching of somatology. Student is also able to perform a content and didactic analysis of textbooks used in the teaching of somatology. General qualifications: On the basis of attending lectures and seminars, the student is able to work with the FEP (framework educational program), specify the requirements of the FEP in the school education program (SEP). The student is ready to design and lead the teaching of the given subject in accordance with the requirements of the SEP and the level of the pupils or students, set goals and create appropriate learning tasks to develop the abilities of pupils and students.
