Course content
Lecture topics: (2 hours/week) 1. The concept and mission of the educational subject of somatology at medical schools. Continuity of the somatology curriculum to the curriculum of the primary school, during education at the higher vocational school - continuity to the content of the secondary school curriculum. 2. Pedagogical documents - framework educational program, school educational program, thematic plan, class book, class report, school rules, etc. 3. Educational goals in the teaching of somatology at medical schools - classification of learning goals, the way of formulating learning goals, examples of cognitive, affective and psychomotor goals. 4. Didactic principles and their application in teaching somatology. 5. Organizational forms of teaching somatology, spatial and material conditions for teaching somatology at medical schools. 6. Didactic means and their use in teaching somatology. 7. Lesson in somatology I. - teaching planning, teacher preparation for teaching, motivation of students in teaching somatology. 8. Lesson in somatology II. - division of somatology lessons, methods in teaching somatology - classification and characteristics of selected teaching methods. 9. Creation of trial tests in somatology, examination, evaluation, classification of knowledge and skills in teaching somatology Seminar topics: (2 hours/week) Seminars include preparation, methodical elaboration of the topic, selection of suitable teaching methods, teaching aids, didactic techniques and active leadership of the lesson on the assigned topic. 1. Functional morphology of cells, tissues. 2. Locomotor system - skeletal system, joints, muscular system. 3. Blood - composition, function, specific and non-specific immunity, hemostasis, hemocoagulation, blood groups. 4. Respiratory system - structure, function. 5. Cardiovascular system - central and peripheral part. 6. Digestive system - structure, functions of individual sections. 7. Urogenital system - structure and function of the kidneys, urinary tract, genitals of men and women. 8. Endocrine system. 9. Nervous system - central and peripheral part.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the didactics of the study subject - Somatology for teaching at medical schools. It prepares future teachers for teaching somatology in the conditions given by the school curriculum.
Expertise: The student demonstrates knowledge in the field of basic didactic categories, has extensive professional knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Professional skills: The student is able to use theoretical knowledge in planning a specific lesson. Can choose appropriate teaching objectives, appropriate teaching methods, adequate teaching aids in teaching somatology, is also able to perform content and didactic analysis of textbooks used in teaching somatology. Competences: On the basis of completing lectures and seminars, the student is able to work with the framework educational program, to specify the requirements of the framework educational program in the school educational program. The student is ready to design and lead the teaching of the subject in accordance with the requirements of the school curriculum and the level of pupils or students, set goals and create appropriate learning tasks to develop the skills of pupils and students.

Requirements for obtaining credit: at least 80% participation in seminars, methodical set - 3 preparations per teaching unit, 2 assessment tests, list of used literature used in the elaboration of the methodical set, continuous verification of knowledge during the academic year, oral exam.
