Course content
Exercise topics: 1.Infusion, transfusion - training of professional techniques and skills. Documenting the application. Determination of possible nursing problems and their solution. The most frequently used therapy in the practice of gyn-por and its specifics - preparation of infusion solution, infusion and transfusion therapy. 2.Puncture and endoscopy. Theoretical knowledge, puncture and endoscopic techniques applicable in the field of gynecology and obstetrics. Preparation of aids for performance, cooperation with a woman. Determination of possible nursing problems and their solution - preparation of aids for puncture. 3.Wound healing, bedsores, prevention, monitoring techniques, and solution procedures. Current trends in wound healing, monitoring and evaluation of surgical wound (laparotomy, wounds after laparoscopy, episiotomy), documentation. Bed sores, causes, factors supporting formation, possibilities of solution - wound care, dressing. 4.Work of the Midwife in the operating room. Requirements for construction, material and personnel arrangement of the operating tract. Midwife´s position in the operating team. Gynecological instruments for small vaginal procedures. Sewing material. Principles for Midwife´s movement in the operation room - preparation of the Midwife for surgery and preparation of the surgical table. 5.Work of the Midwife in perioperative care, preparation of p / c for exercise, principles of nursing care in p / c after exercise, saturation of basic needs, care for woman on gyn-jip, in women after SC - evaluation of p / k after surgery. 6.The issue of death and dying. Requirements for medical staff. An ethical approach to the dying and the bereaved. Death and Dying in Gynecology and Obstetrics. Specifics of perinatal loss, late abortions - care for the dead body.

Learning outcomes
The subject is both theoretical - practical and is a profiling subject for midwives. It helps to develop initial skills for midwife practice. The emphasis is placed on practicing these skills during practical training of the midwifery. The aim of the subject is to prepare a midwife for a comprehensive nursing care of a woman in different ages of life.
Expertise: The student knows basic professional techniques for nursing care. The student justify the principles of performing professional tasks in nursing care. The student demonstrates broad knowledge in the field of medicine application, application possibilities, principles. The student demonstrates broad knowledge in the field of bedsores and wound healing. Professional skills: The student is able to perform and defend basic nursing tasks (drug administration, introduction of venous cannula, wound dressing?). The student is able to provide basic nursing care to a woman with tranfusion therapy, and to the woman undergoing surgical treatment.
