Course content
|
Lecture topics: (2 hours/week) 1. Education in nursing, midwifery and paramedics in the Czech Republic and in the world - current and in the past. 2. Undergraduate, postgraduate and lifelong education of nurses, general nurses, midwives and paramedics, their competencies and employment in the health system. 3. Pedagogical documents at medical schools (curriculum of fields and subjects, study goals, its contents and profiles of graduates). 4. Pedagogical documents at medical schools (framework and school educational programs, curricula and syllabi of individual subjects, with a focus on nursing subjects and medical subjects of a practical nature). 5. Personality of a teacher of specialized medical subjects, focusing on nursing and medical subjects including practical teaching. 6. Organizational provision of teaching nursing subjects, including practice that takes place in clinical facilities, ie at the patient's bedside, and teaching other medical subjects, including practical teaching. 7. Study resources, textbooks and other study aids focusing on nursing, midwifery and paramedics. 8. Motivation of students in medical fields, with a focus on nursing, or other fields with practical teaching. 9. Objectives, forms, methods and means of teaching nursing in theory lessons and in the practical teaching of medical subjects at secondary medical schools in laboratory conditions. 10. Completion of studies in nursing fields with a focus on the profile part of the Matura exam. Seminar topics: 1. Dividing students into groups, drawing topics from the field of nursing, instructing students about the course of the following seminars, what they should include in the demonstration lesson, how the lesson should take place. 2. The didactics of nursing is based on the principles and knowledge of general didactics. It is the basis of professional and value orientation of a professional teacher. It teaches students the methods, forms, structuring, educational process in medical schools. It deals with the system of medical education, its structure, functions, tasks, goals, forms of study, legislation, the personality of a professional teacher, ethics and morality. It also introduces students to pedagogical documents - class book, class report, curriculum, curriculum, etc. The aim of the course is to educate future teachers of nursing and practical teaching, who will have both sufficient theoretical knowledge and the necessary practical skills, including communication skills, and of course the necessary ethical education.
Expertise: The student knows the content of the nursing curriculum at medical schools, as well as the content of the curriculum of other medical subjects, which include practical teaching (eg a subject focusing on nursing procedures, etc.). Professional skills: The student is able to apply effective methods and forms of teaching in nursing subjects. The student is able to analyze the subject matter of nursing from a didactic point of view. The student manages to independently solve didactic problems. The student is able to justify his own didactic decisions. The student is able to analyze the experience gained by teaching practice in high school. The student is able to describe and navigate in pedagogical documents, in relation to nursing subjects. The student is able to describe alternative didactic concepts and innovations, in relation to the above subjects. Competences: The student is able to use the acquired theoretical knowledge in the study of other professional subjects and apply them during practice. The student is able to clearly and convincingly communicate to students of secondary medical school their own professional opinions.

Assessment methods and criteria

Active participation in seminars. The student will prepare a detailed methodological package on the assigned nursing topic, which will be submitted at least one week before the credit is awarded. Elaboration of a methodological package, based on specific experience from pedagogical practice. It contains detailed preparation for the lesson, an assessment of the didactic effectiveness of the textbook, according to which the teaching was conducted, and a review of a professional article related to the topic. Control and evaluation of individual work by the teacher is a necessary prerequisite for obtaining credit. Credit will be awarded on the basis of completed, the above tasks. The credit will have 2 parts: written (in the form of a didactic test) and oral (defense of the methodological package and correct answers to the questions asked by the teacher in the scope of the whole subject).
