Learning outcomes
This subject is designed to provide students with the basic knowledge of biochemistry and hematology. It is mainly about substance composition of living systems (with emphasis on man), principles of energetics and thermodynamics and functioning of enzymes. The student is extensively acquainted with the overview of human metabolism, principles of its regulation and nutrition. The last part is devoted to the composition and functions of blood and liver and their importance for the investigation of patients.
Expertise: The student will become basic ideas about the chemical composition of living matter and the course of basic processes in the body and about the basic nature of some diseases. Student knows basic hematological values, knows blood physiology. Professional skills: The theoretical knowledge is appropriately used in the principles of proper nutrition, in the application of the type of medicine, can use the knowledge to explain the principle of treatment to patients. The student is able to identify pathologies in basic haematological values, knows and recognizes clinical symptoms by anemia, by the blood coagulation impaired, etc.
