Learning outcomes

The course includes all important parts of language training: oral and written language manifestation, text understanding, reading and pronunciation training, special vocabulary training covering the following topics:
Subject Knowledge: Students will learn approximately 100 words and phrases from the selected topics. Student is able to explain the aspects of his or her work, special issues in obstetrics, the activities of a birth assistant and qualification requirements, he is able to describe reproduction system and its functions, he can explain the process of pregnancy and the birth including possible complications, he can create the questions about the current state of a pregnant woman and answer typical patient's questions. Professional Skills: Student is able to take part in short discussions on selected topics, he is able to choose correct speech models while communicating with a patient, he is able to give the advice to the patients, retell the text, write a short report and fill in the form recording the facts about the admission/birth/health condition.
