Course content
Lecture Topics: The First Consultation: Psychological problems of diseases, psychosomatic relationships and somatopsychic, autoplastic picture of the disease. Psychological problems of hospitalization, iatropatogenie, sororigenie and egrotogenie. The Second Consultation: Stress. Productive and unproductive behavior of nurse, paramedics as a client, psychotherapy in nursing. The types of disability and psychological approach to clients. Seminar Topics: The First Consultation: Special approach to clients in various departments: internal, surgical, gynecological and neurological. Dying and the death in terms of psychology. Self-Study Desease experience lasting over time, the ratio of patient to disease and categories of patients from a psychological perspective. Professional deformation, the risk of burn-out syndrome. Psychology of pain, anxiety, fear and inferiority.

Learning outcomes
As a part of the subject of Psychology it introduces the issue of health psychology. It deepens the knowledge that is important for professional mastering difficult situations while providing the care for individual patients' needs, for the impaired and the dying, as well as to maintain the mental balance of an independent provider of care and support.
Subject Knowledge: After the course completion the student has the knowledge which is important for professional mastering difficult situations while providing the care for individual patients' needs, for the impaired and the dying, as well as to maintain the mental balance of an independent provider of care and support. Professional Skills: Students can meet the client's needs adequately and they can solve the problems associated with the disease. They can approach the client considering disease specifics.
