Seminar Topics: 1. week: Introduction into legal issues, the term of a law, the creation of legal norms. System of law in the Czech Republic. 2. week: The constitution, the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms. 3. week: The cooperation of Czech and European legal norms and their relation to health care. 4. week: The family code, social care for citizens and the system of social security in the Czech Republic. 5. week: The responsibility for the medical care performance. The Labour Code: basic regulations. The Penal Code and its basics. Offences in health care and the basics of the law dealing with offences.

Subject informs about the law and legislative and introduces the valid legislative related to the system of medical and social services, the rights and duties of medical professions, patients, clients and the organs of public administration. The subject contains the part of professional legislative covering the activities of a general nurse
Subject Knowledge: Students understand basic legal terminology and they understand the issues described in the legal code of the Czech Republic. They understand the relations between Czech and European legal system and the relation between the executive and legislative systems in medical and health care field. Professional Skills: Students are able to use the social areas of the law to help the patients. They are able to recognize and identify legal issues in situations appearing in medical training and professional activites. |
