Course content
Lecture topics: 1st consultation: The concept of law, creation and system of laws in the Czech Republic. Responsibility for health care, labor code - basic provisions. Criminal law and its foundations. Misdemeanors in health care and the basics of the Misdemeanors Act. Self-study: Constitution of the Czech Republic, Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms. Harmonization of Czech and EU legal norms and their relation to health care. Family Act, social care for citizens and social security system in the Czech Republic.

Learning outcomes
The subject provides basic information about law and legislation and introduces current legislation relating to the system of health and social care, including the rights and obligations of health professions, clients and state administration bodies. Students will be acquainted with basic legal terminology and will acquire orientation in the Czech legal order. They will understand the relationship between the legal system of the Czech Republic and the EU and the relationship between legislative and executive powers in the system of health and social care.
