Course content
Seminar Topics: 1st consultation: Qualitative approaches in nursing research: observation, grounded theory, content analysis, case study. Publishing and presenting results. 2nd consultation: Principle of data analysis in quantitative research (statistical hypothesis, p-value). Selected examples of statistical tests: t-test (Excel - TTEST command), good match test (Excel - CHITEST command). Self-study: The students will learn the theory and methods of qualitative research, the specificity of research in nursing and its priorities for the 21st century through study support and the use of specialized literature. Furthermore, they will work independently in Excel when analyzing specific data.

Learning outcomes
The subject is designed as a theoretical-practical one, which assumes the application of knowledge acquired in other nursing and humanitarian subjects as well as a certain level of creativity. It will teach students the basics of critical scientific thinking, understanding the need and importance of a scientific approach in evidence-based nursing practice (Evidence Based Practice and Evidence Based Nursing, hereinafter referred to as EBP and EBN). It will teach them the basic steps of the research process. The aim of the course is primarily to provide students with practical guidance on how to proceed in preparing a bachelor's thesis.
Expertise: Students know the principles of qualitative research and the specifics of research in their field. They are familiar with the principle of statistical analysis. Professional skills: Students are able to prepare a scientific project. They can perform selected statistical analyzes using a computer.
