Course content

Lecture Topics: 1. week: Introduction into the subject, basic terminology, positioning: classification based on indication and aims, basics of manipulation with a patient. 2. week: Medical rehabilitation, social rehabilitation, pedagogical rehabilitation, work rehabilitation, types of rehabilitation facilities. 3. week: Care after respiratory system passibility, care after the overall condition, prevention TEN, immobilization syndrome, psychological aspect. 4. week: Rehabilitation specifics in health care in indication area: traumatology. 5. week: Rehabilitation specifics in health care in indication area: inner medicine, geriatrics. 6. week: Rehabilitation specifics in health care in indication area: paediatry. 7. week: Rehabilitation specifics in health care in indication area: neurology. Seminar Topics: 1. week: Introduction and basic movement elements, bed and equipment of a hospital room: ergonomy. 2. week: Passive movement. 3. week: Active movement. 4. week: Breath gymnastics, respiratory physiotherapy. 5. week: Condition exercise. 6. week: Positioning. 7. week: Restoration of postural functions.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject is theoretically - practical. It is a part of a complex set of subject covering nursing procedures. Students will learn the rules of basic procedures of rehabilitation applying the system approach in health care. They will know the principle of education implementing of rehabilitation principles in nursing processes and tasks focused on increasing the quality of basic care after the patients.
Subject Knowledge: Student knows basic terminology, he is able to explain the rules of positioning, to name the tools for positioning and postural function restoration, he can describe the issues of immobilization syndrome including preventive measures. Professional Skills: Student is able to realize positioning and verticalization process based on individual indication areas, he gains basic therapeutic skills in rehabilitation intervention. He is able to cooperate in a multidisciplinary nursing team.
