Course content
Seminar Topics: The First Consultation: Introduction to the topic: evidence-based training (EBP), evidence-based nursing (EBN), historical overview, definition, status in the country and in the world. Critical assessment and clinical problems finding. The Second Consultation: Formulation of clinical questions. Types of clinical questions. Finding the best evidence of the type of clinical questions. Searching in foreign databases. Assessing the evidence found, hierarchy, suggestions for training. Self-study: Through Moodle system students will train independently with the operators AND, OR, NOT and will study the terminology related to the publications (ISSN, ISBN, the English terms for the searching criteria). They will know the principle of open-access website content as CSO and Eurostat.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to teach students to use scientific literature while using databases on the Internet. Another goal is to introduce the possibilities of obtaining aggregated data, both primarily for the purpose of the thesis.
Subject Knowledge: Students can describe the stages of the process of evidence-based nursing. Students can formulate a clinical question using the PICOT format. Students know the terminology related to the publications. They have an overview of the available bibliographic databases and databases containing aggregated health care data. Professional Skills: Students can carry out research and can obtain the data from publicly available databases, the data for project development; they can work in accordance with established clinical questions in a selected issue. Students can evaluate forensic evidence and suggest the best solution to clinical cases.
