Learning outcomes
The subject is theoretically-practical. It widens the knowledge of clinical health care. It is particulary focused on the prevention in caring after hearing and preventing the appearance of serious damage of auditory system. Students are introduced with clinical displays from the point of health care and the patients' needs which are changing because of hearing disease/disorder. It introduces the students with providing the care in a multidisciplinary team after the patients with damaged hearing function in bed wards and other departments of medical facilities.
Subject Knowledge: Student will get a basic overview of the diseases of ears, neck and nose. The subject combines the facts from anatomy, physiology, diagnostic and therapeutic processes and nursing processes for the patients of all age groups. Extent of the classes covers only basics and provides the students with a guide for further study of the issues of phoniarty. Professional skills: Students will be introduced to the issues of working in ORL department for children or adults, students are able to describe examination and displaying methods, evaluate the condition of the patient in perioperational period, they will learn the rules of pre-operational, inter-operational and post-operational care after the patients of all age groups, differences in approach to different age groups of patients, students will get specific skills in ambulatory and bed ward part and the rules of aseptic working, student is able to educate the patients about the most common clinical diseases from the field of ORL and about acute states.

Active class participation, expressing the interest in the issuess of the field, self-study of professional literature and a case study, final test, an exam in a form of a written project on a given topic from the nursing issues.
