Course content
|
Lecture Topics: (2 hours / week) 1. Burns. Reconstructive and plastic surgery. 2. Polytrauma. 3. Spinal injuries. Surgical diseases of the head, neck and chest. 4. Surgery of abdomen NPB, Hernias. 5. Surgery of the abdomen Diseases of the esophagus, stomach and small intestine. Diseases of the large intestine and rectum. 6. Surgery of the abdomen Diseases of the gallbladder and biliary tract, liver, spleen and pancreas. Exercise topics: (2 hours / week) 1. Nursing process in patients with burns. Specifics of care for children with burns. 2. Nursing process in patients with spinal injuries. Nursing process in patient with head injury. 3. Nursing process in a patient with a sudden abdominal event (ileus, peritonitis, appendicitis, hernia). 4. Nursing process in patients with surgical diseases of esophagus and stomach, colon and rectum. 5. Nursing process in patients with surgical disease of gallbladder and biliary tract. 6. Nursing process in a patient with surgical disease of the liver and surgical disease of the pancreas. Nursing process in surgical patient - senior.

Learning outcomes
|
This subject is a theoretical-practical unit. It is a part of a complex of subjects from clinical nursing. It introduces clinical conditions and diseases in surgical fields in terms of nursing care and needs of patients changed in connection with surgical disease. It characterizes clinical conditions, their etiology, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
Expertise: The student demonstrates knowledge in the field of surgery, he/she knows the types of anesthesia, demonstrates knowledge of the principles of diagnosis and treatment of selected surgical diseases. It demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing diagnoses resulting from biopsychosocial needs of patients. It plans appropriate nursing interventions with regard to the set goals of care. Gain skills in the implementation of specific nursing activities. Professional skills: The student can practically prepare the patient for surgical examination, surgery. Can identify postoperative complications and knows their solutions.
