Course content
(2 hours/week). 1. Anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system. 2. System of care for women. 3. Gynaecological surgery. 4. Gynaecological inflammation. 5. Physiological pregnancy, childbirth and six months of childbirth. 6. Irregular pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium. 7. Investigative methods in gynaecology and obstetrics. Benign tumours, precancerous and malignant tumours of the female reproductive system. (2 hours/week). 1. Nursing process in adolescent girls, women in gynecological outpatient clinic. 2. Nursing process in a woman undergoing gynaecological surgery. Nursing process in a woman after menopause 3. Nursing process in a woman with external genital inflammation. 4. Nursing process in a woman with genital cancer. 5. Nursing process in a woman with physiological pregnancy. 6. Nursing process in a woman with a physiological delivery. 7. Nursing process in a physiological six-week-old woman. Nursing process in a woman with a risky or pathological pregnancy.

Learning outcomes
The course Nursing Care of the Sick in Gynaecology and Obstetrics is theoretical and practical and introduces students to the concept of the field of care of women in the whole spectrum of physiological, risk and pathological conditions. It focuses on gynaecological and obstetric care, using knowledge from other interdisciplinary subjects (anatomy, physiology, Latin language, nursing, nursing procedures). The nursing process focuses on both physiological situations (pregnancy, childbirth and six months) and pathological conditions, respecting the basic needs of women and striving to meet them. The aim of the course is to independently define and creatively solve a theoretical and practical problem in the field based on professional knowledge.
Expertise: The student will describe the reproductive system of a woman. The student will explain the menstrual cycle of a woman. The student will list the basic examination methods used in GYN-POR. The student will provide education to a woman prior to anticipated gynecologic surgery. The student will evaluate the course of physiologic pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the six-week period. Professional Skills: The student will evaluate by physical examination the current status of a woman in the gynecologic outpatient clinic. The student will implement the nursing process for a woman undergoing gynecologic surgery. The student will be able to implement the education of a pregnant woman in a prenatal clinic. The student will demonstrate breastfeeding education. General Competencies: The student is able to communicate his/her own professional opinions clearly and persuasively to professionals and the general public.

Compulsory participation in exercises Credit: verification of practical professional skills and general competences acquired in the seminars - passing a control test.
