Course content
Lecture topics: (2 hours/week) 1. Subjective and objective symptoms. 2. Physical examination. 3. Evaluation of the child's growth and development. 4. Radiology and radiodiagnostics in paediatrics. 5. Immunizations. Seminar topics. 1. Patient assessment, history taking, evaluation of objective and subjective symptoms of the pediatric patient. 2. Assessment of the general condition of the child. 3. Physical examination of the head and neck, chest, abdomen, extremities and genitalia. 4. Basic physical characteristics. 5. Preparation and care of the paediatric patient before and after the examination - imaging examination methods - radiodiagnostics, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound and radionuclide examination methods. 6. Preparation and care of the paediatric patient before and after examination - electrographic and functional examination methods.

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as a theoretical-practical one. It includes comprehensive information on the signs and symptoms of systemic diseases and modern diagnostic and examination methods, including radiodiagnostics, radiology, radiotherapy in paediatrics. Students will become familiar with physical examination techniques and the assessment of a child's overall health, recognizing signs that indicate deviations from healthy development and symptoms of disease.
Expertise: The student knows and can describe the signs and symptomatology of individual systemic diseases, modern diagnostic and examination methods, knows how to prepare a pediatric patient for individual examinations and has knowledge of the physical examination by a nurse and a physician in pediatrics. Professional Skills: The student understands basic clinical concepts and is familiar with basic examination techniques. The student knows how to perform a physical examination. General Competencies: Students are able to communicate their own professional opinions clearly and persuasively to professionals and the general public.
