Course content
Seminar topics (2 hours / week): 1. Selected areas, assessment and diagnosis tools for patient / client with circulatory system disease. 2. Selected areas, tools for assessing and diagnosing a patient / client with a respiratory illness. 3. Selected areas, tools for assessing and diagnosing a patient / client with a digestive system disease. 4. Selected areas, tools for assessing and diagnosing patient / client with disease of the excretory system. 5. Selected areas, assessment and diagnosis tools for the patient / client with locomotory system diseases. 6. Selected areas, tools for assessing and diagnosing a geriatric patient / client. Expertise: The student is able to describe and practically make an assessment of the current state of the patient / client, is oriented in the symptomatology of diseases of individual organ systems. Professional skills: The student can use the tools for assessment and diagnostics in nursing practice. General competencies: The student is able to communicate independently with the patient / client and assess his or her state of health.

Learning outcomes
Students will acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the area of complex assessment of functional and dysfunctional state of health. The subject is intended for general nurses who will provide nursing care in primary, secondary or tertiary areas. Within the concept of modern nursing, the main objective of the subject is the ability to independently evaluate the current state of the patient / client and identification of his / her needs.
Expertise: The student is able to describe and practically make an assessment of the current state of the patient / client, is oriented in the symptomatology of diseases of individual organ systems. Professional skills: The student can use the tools for assessment and diagnostics in nursing practice. General competencies: The student is able to communicate independently with the patient / client and assess his or her state of health.
