Course content
Lecture topics: 1. Illness and its causes. Death and posthumous changes. 2. Regressive changes. 3. Blood circulation failure. Local disorders of blood circulation. 4. General oncopathology. Special oncopathology. 5. Pathology of respiratory system. 6. Pathology of the central nervous system. Seminar Topics: (2 hours / week) 1. Pathology, its importance and position in medicine. Biopsy and cytology, nurse's role. Heart-attack. 2. CNS circulation disorders. 3. Lung tumors, breast tumors. 4. Diabetes mellitus. 5. Sepsis, shock states, DIC. Pathology of the excretory system. 6. Causae mortis in surgery. Causae mortis in internal medicine.

Learning outcomes
The subject is conceived as theoretical. After completing the course, students will become an overview of the causes of diseases, regressive and metabolic changes and cancer diseases. Students will also get an overview of the methods of processing material intended for histological examination, diagnostic methods used in routine practice, including special methods used in the field (immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, electron microscopy, molecular biological methods).
Expertise: The student knows basic medical terminology and he / she is able to define the pathophysiology of individual diseases. Professional skills: The student understands terminology and understands basic pathophysiological mechanisms. He / she understands the complex position of pathology within the preventive process.

Exam is in written form, it consists of multiple choice credit test, to become the credit, the success must be for 50%. The next is the theoretical exam with three questions from the lectures area.
