Course content
General scope of practice: The general nurse may perform activities in the provision of preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitative, urgent, palliative and dispensary care without professional supervision based on the indication of the doctor or dentist. In particular, it prepares patients for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and, based on the indication of the physician, carries them out or assists them or provides nursing care during and after these interventions, in particular: " to give/put in peripheral venous catheters by patients over 3 years of age, " to give medicinal products except radiopharmaceuticals, unless intravenous injections or infusions are given in children under 3 years of age unless otherwise stated below; " introduce and maintain inhalation and oxygen therapy. " screening, screening, and dispensary examinations, taking blood and other biological material and assessing whether the results are physiological; in the case of physiological results, may schedule a further inspection, " to treat acute and surgical wounds, including treatment of drains, drainage systems and skin during radiotherapy treatment; " remove stitches in primarily healing wounds and drains with the exception of chest and drainage areas in the head area; " catheterize the bladder of women and girls older than 3 years, " replace and treat the tracheostomy cannula, introduce gastric probes to conscious patients over 10 years of age, including ensuring patency and treatment, and apply enteral nutrition to patients of all ages; " gastric lavage in conscious patients over 10 years of age. " assist in initiating the administration of transfusion products and treat and terminate the patient during administration " perform a visit service and provide care in the patient's own social environment. " serving food for special medical purposes; " perform rehabilitation treatment in cooperation with physiotherapist, occupational therapist and speech therapist, especially positioning, seating, basic passive, breathing and fitness exercises, mobility and relocation training, self-training to increase patient self-sufficiency and exercises concerning rehabilitation of communication disorders and swallowing disorders and purging and basal stimulation methods with a view to preventing and correcting disorders of body function, including prevention of other immobility disorders, " evaluate and treat central and peripheral venous inputs, including ensuring their patency; " take care of established urinary catheters of patients of all ages, including performing bladder irrigation.

Learning outcomes
Professional training is focused on the work of nurses in intensive care units, ARO and emergency, students work under the direct guidance of a mentor. Based on the fulfillment of the condition of the profession of general nurse, the number of hours of professional experience may be reduced for students / Decree No. 39/2005 Sb.., § 3 paragraph 7 / as amended, who during their studies, carry out the profession of nurse.
Expertise: The student demonstrates knowledge of nursing procedures and the theory of nursing, which can be applied in practice through nursing plans and nursing interventions. Professional skills: The student is able to realize nursing care by the method of nursing process, is able to work with medical documentation and is a valid member of the medical team.

The prerequisite for obtaining credits is participation in prescribed practice, keeping of the Book of professional practice score of the mentor. Working with the nursing record according to the instructions of the guarantor of professional training.
