Course content
|
Exercise topics: (5 hours/week) 1. Collection of biological material (urine, stool, sputum, swabs and swabs from sinuses, body surfaces, wounds, mucous membranes). 2. Collection of biological material (blood - venous, capillary, assistance with arterial blood collection; open and closed system collection). 3. Introduction and care of peripheral venous cannula, care of central venous catheter and ports. 4. Infusion, parenteral nutrition. 5. Transfusion. 6. Wound and ostomy care, dressing techniques. 7. Minor surgical procedures, dressing table, sterile table. Puncture, endoscopy.

|
The course is designed as a theoretical and practical unit. The content forms the core of professional skills of paediatric nurses and belongs to the complex of basic professional subjects. Based on theoretical knowledge, it teaches nursing performance techniques and nursing care procedures. Emphasis is placed on adherence to clinical recommendations in line with the latest scientific knowledge and technological developments. Individual nursing procedures and techniques are taught in accordance with a holistic approach to the child, acceptance of the child's rights and adherence to occupational health and safety rules.
Expertise: The student has the theoretical knowledge to perform practical nursing procedures in accordance with the competencies of a paediatric nurse according to the current legislation. The student is able to describe nursing procedures in each area, their importance, preparation and care of the paediatric patient before, during and after the procedure. The student can describe the negative effects of improperly performed nursing procedures on the health of the child. Professional Skills: The student practically demonstrates individual nursing procedures. The student demonstrates manual dexterity in performing practical procedures and techniques in the area of dependent, independent, and collaborative pediatric nursing activities with consideration for the individual needs and safety of the patient. General Competencies: The student is able to practically apply individual nursing procedures when working with the pediatric patient in a health care facility.
