Course content
Seminar topics: 1. Work organization of nurse, nursing unit and its parts. 2. Disinfection and sterilization (care of aids, surfaces). 3. Reception, translation and release of the patient. 4. Hygiene care. Decubitus. 5. Therapeutic and examination positions. 6. Care for the dead body. 7. Nutrition of patients. 8. Emptying of urine and stool. 9. Physiological functions. 10. Physiological functions. 11. Administration of drugs. 12. Basal stimulation. Exercise topics: (2 hours / week) 1. Bed for the sick and its treatment, linen, room equipment, signaling, care of the patient / client environment. 2. Barrier nursing care, hospital infections and their prevention. 3. Reception, translation and discharge of the patient (documentation, forms, modern medical documentation systems), visitation, types of visitation, nursing visitation management, visitation assistance, personal data protection. 4. Hygienic care (morning and evening toilet, total bath). 5. Hygienic care (washing hair on the bed, bath of the child), handling the patient (from bed to bathroom, bed), mobilization. 6. Patient / client handling. therapeutic and examination positions. 7. Nutrition and nutrition of patients. 8. Urine emptying, catheterization. 9. Stool emptying, enema. 10. Measurement of physiological functions. 11. Administration of drugs. Injections. 12. Utilization of basal stimulation elements in practice of nurses.

Learning outcomes
The subject is conceived as theoretical and practical. The content of the course creates the core of the professional skills of nurses and belongs to the complex of basic vocational subjects. Students will have theoretical knowledge to perform dependent and independent nurse activities, based on which they will be able to implement performance in accordance with applicable legislation for nurses. Individual nursing procedures and techniques are taught in accordance with the principles of nursing process and holistic conception of nursing care.
Expertise: The student has the theoretical knowledge to perform practical nursing procedures in accordance with the competences of the nurse according to valid legislation. The student is able to describe nursing procedures in individual areas including care for the elderly, their importance, preparation and care of the patient before, during the performance / activity / procedure and after the performance / activity / procedure. The student is able to describe the negative impacts of incorrectly performed nursing procedures on human health. Professional skills: Student practically demonstrates individual nursing procedures. The student demonstrates manual skills in performing practical procedures and techniques in the field of dependent, independent and cooperative activities of a nurse with regard to individual needs and patient safety.
