Framework scope of practice: - Determining a nursing care plan for a child with a specific medical diagnosis. - Collection of biological material, including invasive sampling. - Administration of medications per os. - Administration of injections (intradermal, subcutaneous, intravenous, intramuscular). - Provision of peripheral venous access. - Assisting in securing central venous accesses. - Assisting in the preparation and administration of infusions, transfusions. - Assisting with drainage, drainage systems, wound care, wound dressings, preparation of sterile tables, assisting with special examinations in internal medicine and surgery. - Assisting with dressings. - Assisting with the insertion of gastric and duodenal probes. - Assisting with patient puncture. - Care of patients with stomas, care of chronic wounds, including decubitus. - Monitoring physiological needs, measuring oxygen saturation. - Preparation of the patient for surgery, care of the child after surgery. - Preparation of aids for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. - Monitoring of adult patients using standardized measurement techniques. - Receipt, control and storage of medicines. - Familiarity with the timetable, activities and performance of critical care nurses. - Assisting with airway care and artificial pulmonary ventilation, including suctioning of upper and lower airways. - Monitoring of patients with impaired consciousness. - Activities related to the care of unconscious patients /care of hygiene, nutrition, airway, prevention of decubitus, special care of the oral cavity. - Care of patients with permanent catheters. - Performing measurements and analysis of physiological functions using instrumentation. - Assisting in the insertion of gastric and duodenal probes in the child with impaired consciousness. - Assisting with gastric lavage in a patient with a secured airway. - Assisting with activities in a child with prolonged pulmonary ventilation. - Suctioning airway secretions in a child with a secured airway.

Learning outcomes
|
The practice is focused on the provision of outpatient care, inpatient care and care provided in the patient's own social environment. Students will learn to provide care to patients in their own social environment, as well as in special care units (e.g. ICU/IMP/ARO) using the nursing process method. They will deepen their knowledge and practical skills in providing individual nursing care.
Expertise: The student demonstrates knowledge of nursing practice and nursing theory that can be applied in practice through nursing plans and nursing interventions. The student is able to implement nursing care using the nursing process method, is able to work with medical records, and is a valid member of the health care team. General Competencies: The student is able to apply theoretical knowledge and manual skills in natural settings, and is able to communicate with the client and members of the health care team.

Method of verification of study results: written evaluation of the mentor, submission of a seminar thesis (case study), check of the fulfilled performances in the Professional Practice Record. Other requirements for the student: 100% completion of the hours of professional practice, keeping the Professional Practice Record
