Course content |
1. year. Professional Training I. and II. Training in winter semester is based on a concept model of main determinants of health; it is focused on the area of health support and disease prevention as well as on nursing training, diagnostic and therapeutic activities in bed wards. Students will know the structure of services in care after the elderly and long-term patients, with specific forms of health care and support, including the types of facilities suitable for the care of this kind. The students will train how to evaluate the needs, how to satisfy them, how to recognize the risks they may face. Students will know the kinds of diseases typical for a certain age, preventive measures and how to use the methods of individual and group medical education. They will also learn basic nursing skills. In Summer semester the training is focused on bed ward care in internal medicine and surgery. Students will know the structure of hospital services and their special departments. They will learn how to evaluate basic needs of the patients, environment (material, personal), which is sufficient for the needs of the clients from the point of health care and their health condition.

Students apply theoretical knowledges and manual skills, which they have obtained in subjectes as Nursing and Nursing Techniques. They learn how to use these knowledges and skills in real conditions. |

Assessment methods and criteria |

Before starting the professional training the student will have to fulfil health and fitness capability requirement and vaccination against transmittable diseases in accordance with current legal norms, undergo educational seminar of work security and fire protection by the FHS. A credit requirement of the IP is 100% attendance of the assigned training place. (Read the list of work places for the training in the semesters). The IP also requires the managing of the record book of professional training, the evidence of practical activities and tasks necessary for the educational process covering study program. It will need the overview of performed and confirmed professional training including the evaluation from the supervisor of the training. Requirement for passing the exam is receiving the test in approptiate semesters. Requirements fulfillment is confirmed by a professional assistant and a mentor or the chief nurse of the assigned medical facility recorded in the Log book of a professional training showing the evaluation of students. The exam is practically-theoretical and it takes place at clinical facilities under the supervision of a professional assistant. |
